Ned Lamont, the governor of Connecticut, declared that a back-to-school Covid relief would be provided to 15,000 households "Special benefit for each child of $257.87.

The Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund enables their efforts. The American Rescue Act, which was signed into law by the president in 2021 and gave the state $7 million in immediate assistance.

Connecticut's congressional representatives Richard Blumenthal and (Senator), The American Rescue Plan, according to Senator Chris Murphy, John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro, and Jim Himes, made it possible for these payments.

A payout is available to those who have children in the state who have received Temporary Family Assistance (TFA) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), generally known as food stamps.

They must have received assistance from one, both, or both of these programmes in May. Food stamp claimants had to have had "no countable income" during that month, according to the governor's office.

For SNAP eligibility in Connecticut, you cannot have a gross income higher than the following depending on the size of your household:

Those under 18: $1,986, $2,686 for a household of two, Three-person household: $3,386, Four-person household: $4,085
